A wonderful classic Porsche restoration. A restoration which we are very proud of.

This car was originally an orange car as can be seen from further inspection when starting to dismantle the car. The first task was to catalogue everything by way of photographs and systematically logging all parts that were taken off, and also creating photographic and written evidence so it will go with the cars history which is very important if you do decide to sell the car in the future.

Every panel was stripped. We had to replace a few panels however, in the main the car was not so bad. Obviously, a few rust areas. The panels that needed to be welded or new areas of metal that was needed was executed by our fabulous welder.

Once stripped back it was time to pull back any panels which had a bump or a ding to minimise the depth of the filler. An epoxy coating was applied to prevent further rust penetration in the future.

A suitable primer was applied and weeks of sanding and fitting of component’s was carried out. After various discussions with the client an orange was picked, and a suitable gloss was applied.

The engine and the underneath of the car was tackled next. It was decided to put a protective coating under the car again to help with corrosion issues in the future.

The engine required a good overhaul as it had been turned over and used on various occasions, so degradation was kept to a minimal.

The last important part of this classic car restoration is the tuning of the car. We are very fortunate to have an in house specialist who works on tuning classic cars and sets them up correctly. In this instance all the ignition system was looked at along with fuel pipes and filters, plugs and finally balancing. The end result is a wonderful restored Classic Porsche , in fact a true Yorkshire Classic car restoration.
