A Master class in classic car restoration of an Armstrong Siddeley.
This classic car is amongst our finest classic car restorations we have completed.
She was a very tired old girl when she came in and it had been in the same ownership for many years. The client decided to bring her back to the road so he could enjoy motoring again.
This is a typical example of what lies beneath. However, it did not dissuade us or the client and a critical path was formulated to get a correct classic car restoration.
We at classic car lab enjoy this type of classic car restoration as we are the leading car restorers in Yorkshire but covering the whole of the UK and Europe.
As you can see from the photos the car was not in a very good condition on arrival to Classic Car Lab.
The restoration work was mainly the body as it required a lot of attention and needed several panels and a lot of shaping. We try to keep filler to a minimal and weld or panel beat the panels where possible. I think the colour combination is fantastic and the addition of some new chrome parts really make the car special.
The engine did not need restoring as it turned over and ran well after new oil, fluids, gaskets, and a good clean out of the petrol tank which was also relined. New brakes and safety checks were done as this is very important with regards to any car that is MOT exempt. Do not cut corners on safety.
