As ever it’s always a delight to service, restore or fix anything on an Aston Martin DB series. Perhaps it’s that connection with James Bond?

As you walk to the car you can almost hear the theme tune of James Bond in the background. I have worked on these cars for over 20 years and they still command great respect and a lot of looking after.

In this particular case it was a straightforward service and a general check over, which you can now see we do as a matter of course.

Stripping the cobs back and giving them a good clean is a sensible thing to do if any classic car is left for some time along with new petrol and checking the fuel lines is essential as well.

We noted that the car was not firing very well. In this particular case just a straightforward look at the spark plugs to make sure the petrol is clean and give her light up and off she went.

Checking the brakes and steering is a must in any car service. Safety is the priority of any car.

An oil and filter change were also carried out.

At the client’s request we also changed the radiator, fitted a hidden radio system behind the front speaker and put in some new hoses and pipes.

This was a straightforward service for us, we have done many over the years.

It is essential that every Classic Car is serviced every year and MOT points are looked at.

There is no legal obligation to have a MOT but, it is a legal obligation to keep your car in a road worthy condition.

There is still nothing like the roar of an Aston Martin DB 5 when she first starts up or when you drive her through some twisty country roads and it feels like you are transported back to WWII and you hear a Spitfire from above, the noise is exactly the same.
